ABOUT OUR SURROGACY PROGRAM

We thank you for considering Coastal Surrogacy, LLC. for your third party assistance.  Whether you are working towards starting your family or extending your current family, there are many important factors to consider when choosing the option of alternative parenting. Although financial and legal aspects play a vital role, the emotional side is equally as important.   We understand electing surrogacy for creating your family can be a difficult decision. You may have already endured hardship with previous failed pregnancy attempts.   However with Surrogacy becoming so widely recognized and successful today, one is no longer limited to adoption or foster parenting.  Surrogacy provides for the ability to have a genetic relationship between the recipient parent and child.   The gift of a child is truly a wonderful blessing and we hope that we can be apart of that journey with you.

Gestational Surrogacy

In a Gestational Surrogacy arrangement, the Surrogate mother acts as only the “host womb”.  There is no genetic relationship between the Surrogate and child.  The Surrogate undergoes an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) also known as embryo transfer procedure where sperm of the Intended Father or donor sperm are combined with Ovum (eggs) of the Intended Mother or donor eggs to create embryos.   This arrangement is highly favorable and considered to have far less legal or psychological ramifications.

Traditional Surrogacy

In a Traditional Surrogacy arrangement, the Surrogate undergoes the procedure of Artificial Insemination (AI) or IVF using the sperm of the Intended Father or Sperm Donor but her egg(s) are being utilized create the child.    Because a genetic relationship exists between the Surrogate and child, the legal procedure for determining legal parentage is different than that of a Gestational Surrogacy arrangement.  Intended Parents should have a full understanding of this type of arrangement including any potential legal or psychological consequences.
